Our Captain Risky

Yowie Bay ramp Port Hacking

 12th 13th March 2011

With the Old Man back on Deck I was excited to be heading to a location I hadn't fished before. Taking just on 45min to get there in the early morn (It took nearly an hour and a half to get home) we got lost only twice. However the Day was stupendous, the Shire really turned it on for us. Different to other harbors the channels are narrow & sides shallow but clearly defined by navigation markers. At low tide sand bars are everywhere! With in seconds of dropping the first line we had bites but alas they were small. However eventually we got on to some keepers. As is the norm you have to learn how to fish a new area, I heard live bait & berly works best from the local yokels. Who knows but I'm sure we will be back & I'll probably give it a go then. But next time we might go to Grays point & give that ramp a go.
